About the role#
This full-time summer internship offers practical experience within the corporate audit function at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. You will support audit projects, risk assessment activities, annual audit planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role provides exposure to healthcare operations, risk management, governance, compliance, and internal control practices. You will work alongside audit leaders and staff to assist with engagements throughout the audit lifecycle.
What you'll do#
- Assist in preparing research materials to identify business problems and offer recommendations for solutions.
- Support leaders on projects designed to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs.
- Develop a solid understanding of company business, products, programs, data, and organizational structure.
- Participate in department meetings, networking events with leaders, and community outreach activities.
- Maintain confidential information to the highest degree.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD program with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to assess information, identify risks, and develop meaningful insights.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and internal systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proactive, curious, and adaptable mindset.
