About the role#
Bird Construction is hiring a Student Project Coordinator for a co-op position based in Regina, Saskatchewan. This role runs for 8 to 12 months, starting in January 2027. You will manage specific project areas while receiving support from a supervisor and a technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and work for specific trades.
- Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks.
- Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions.
- Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate site activities.
- Layout site lines and grades using a total station.
- Create and update project schedules, including manual and graphical formats.
- Monitor manpower productivity and issue warranties.
- Set up and maintain project record keeping.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction program.
- Completion of at least one semester of education following this internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to lead and work in an environment where change happens frequently.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- A sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships while working collaboratively.
- Valid residency or a work permit for Canada.
