About the role#
Beyond New Horizons (BNH) manages the infrastructure used to test flight, defense, and aerospace systems at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex. This role offers hands-on experience by pairing you with engineers and scientists who act as mentors. You will contribute to real technical assignments that support Air Force and BNH missions.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned engineering and technical tasks with appropriate rigor.
- Engage with technical experts across the complex to build your professional network.
- Present a summary of your work to BNH management and the Air Force Program Manager at the end of each term.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed by company policy.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support the team.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university program for Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Completion of at least 45 credit hours (sophomore status) by August 2026.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Previous work experience as an intern for BNH at AEDC.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Fulfillment of your university requirements for a co-operative education program.
- Preferred: Active Department of Defense security clearance, intellectual curiosity, and a self-driven approach to seeking out requirements.
