About the role#
As a Pre-Engineering Mechanical Intern, you will support technical staff on projects related to utility system construction. You will work under direct supervision, handling basic tasks while learning our internal processes and procedures.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to assigned projects and perform basic engineering tasks.
- Organize and store engineering records, including maps, structural drawings, graphs, and design documents.
- Assist with filing systems, drafting techniques, and data resource management.
- Collect and code data for input procedures.
- Review existing records for necessary revisions and prepare data for use.
- Assist with the maintenance of project documentation.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- High level of attentiveness to detail.
- Ability to understand and follow directions closely.
Location & details#
- Location: Newark, New Jersey.
- This is a full-time, on-site, paid internship.
- The role involves a rolling term.
- You may need to travel to job sites or office locations up to 5 percent of the time.
- Physical requirements include remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods, repeating hand or wrist motions, and moving objects up to 20 pounds.
