About the role#
We are looking for a Survey Intern to join our Civil Team. You will work on a variety of construction projects including road, water main, and sewer infrastructure. This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling application process.
What you'll do#
- Inspect infrastructure projects daily and document progress.
- Perform construction observation and follow project procedures.
- Maintain a field book and prepare Inspector’s Daily Reports.
- Measure construction work and calculate quantities for pay items.
- Review plans, specifications, and submittals.
- Report on work progress, technical issues, and any deficiencies to the project supervisor.
- Assist project managers with design or other professional tasks.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules.
- Maintain company-owned vehicles and equipment assigned to your project.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related curriculum.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work within budgets and schedules.
- Effective communication and intrapersonal skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Prior experience on field projects is helpful.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, Geopak, or AutoCAD is a plus.

This position is on-site and available in Kansas City, Manhattan, Overland Park, Topeka, and Wichita, Kansas.
