About the role#
As a Bridge and Structures Intern, you will work alongside our engineering professionals to deliver solutions for transportation challenges. You will gain hands-on experience by contributing to design, analysis, and field tasks while learning directly from experienced engineers. This position offers mentorship from Project Engineers and Project Managers on active projects.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of conventional and complex bridges and structures.
- Assist with load ratings and bridge inspections.
- Contribute to design, analysis, and field-based tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on active engineering projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with a focus on structures.
- A strong interest in bridge and structural engineering.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with AASHTO, IDOT, and ISTHA design and construction standards is preferred.
- A Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus, or plans to obtain one within two years, is preferred.

- This role is based in Franklin, Tennessee.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
