About the role#
As a Civil Site Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the planning, design, and construction of civil engineering projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers and planners on real-world projects that shape communities. This role offers insight into project management, regulatory compliance, and construction practices.
What you'll do#
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify that construction aligns with engineering plans.
- Assist with feasibility studies, zoning research, and due diligence reporting.
- Support engineers in designing stormwater management systems, site layouts, and other infrastructure projects.
- Prepare and update technical drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Compile and analyze data to guide project development.
- Maintain project documentation and contribute to project reports.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred but not required.
- Previous internship or field experience is a plus, but not required.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling application window.
- The position is on-site at one of our Nebraska offices: Bellevue, Grand Island, Lincoln, or Omaha.
