About the role#
As a Bridge and Structural Engineering Intern, you will work alongside our engineering professionals to deliver solutions for transportation projects. You will learn directly from experienced engineers while gaining hands-on experience in the office and the field.
What you'll do#
- Support the design of conventional and complex bridge and structure projects.
- Perform load ratings and conduct bridge inspections.
- Contribute to design, analysis, and field tasks.
- Collaborate on active projects with Project Engineers and Project Managers.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university with a focus on structures.
- A master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural focus is preferred, as is a plan to obtain one within 2 years.
- Strong interest in bridge and structural engineering.
- Excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Familiarity with AASHTO and PennDOT design and construction standards is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, paid, full-time internship based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- The term is rolling.
