About the role#
As an Assurance Intern, you will start applying your academic background to real client work. You will work alongside experienced team members who provide coaching and direction. This internship offers a hands-on perspective on our firm practices and helps you build relationships for your future career.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a structured training program to learn Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
- Become familiar with our specific audit methodology to assist with different stages of the audit process.
- Provide support to audit staff during engagements.
- Communicate with client contacts, including customers, creditors, and banks, regarding audit issues.
- Prepare and document work in working papers using our firm tools and templates.
- Share ideas with audit teams and respond to feedback from team members.
- Complete an assigned accounting or audit research project and present your findings to a panel of professionals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters program in Accounting.
- Active pursuit of school credits to become a CPA.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Leadership experience is preferred, as is a Masters degree in Accounting.
