About the role#
This student worker position supports the volunteer program at Mission Waco. You will work alongside the Volunteer Service Coordinator and the mobilization team to manage day-to-day administrative tasks and volunteer coordination. This role requires eligibility for Federal Work-Study and reliable transportation, as it is an off-campus position.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the administration of the volunteer program by maintaining the database and updating volunteer profiles.
- Support recruitment efforts by attending tabling events and engaging with prospective volunteers.
- Generate reports and handle general office duties.
- Provide direct support to volunteers throughout the program and assist with volunteer orientation.
- Prepare for special events, including volunteer appreciation functions.
- Create promotional content such as flyers and handouts.
- Communicate with volunteers and staff via email, phone, text, and in-person interactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Baylor University with Federal Work-Study eligibility.
- Proficiency in general office software including Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate data entry.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with basic office equipment and phone etiquette.
- A genuine interest in the mission and goals of the non-profit.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and solve problems effectively.
- Preferred majors include Communications, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Business Administration, or Human Resources.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site at Mission Waco Mission World.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week with flexible working hours.
- Compensation: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour, depending on student status and skill level.
