About the role#
This 12-month co-op role focuses on the development and characterization of medical devices. You will join our team to gain industry experience in testing, data analysis, and documentation within a regulated environment. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, including systems, mechanical, electrical, software, and human factors engineers.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop prototype components or subassemblies for test fixtures and future medical devices.
- Develop test methods and protocols to evaluate medical devices.
- Set up and execute experimental tests in a laboratory setting.
- Build data analysis tools to improve the efficiency of evaluating experimental results.
- Prepare formal test reports and present your findings to cross-functional program teams.
- Contribute to documentation and deliverables for fielded products and those in development.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, with the intent to return to your program after the co-op.
- Ability to apply engineering and scientific concepts to develop solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Experience with data analysis and application development in Python is preferred.
- Previous lab or medical device experience is a plus.
- Experience with hardware design and rapid prototyping, including mechanical or electrical design and fabrication, is a plus.
