About the role#
The C.A.R.E.S PAID Fellowship is a year-long program designed to provide intensive, hands-on experience in behavioral health and social services. Fellows work directly with youth aged 12 to 20 while receiving professional development, mentorship, and training. This role is a full-time, paid position that serves as a pathway for those looking to build a career in the human services field.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a weekly didactic seminar covering topics such as developmental milestones, behavioral management, and trauma-informed care.
- Complete training in four different youth-serving intensive programs, including emergency shelter, independent living, and intensive behavioral health services.
- Provide face-to-face clinical hours as part of your immersive experience.
- Obtain certifications in Medication Administration and Crisis Prevention Intervention.
- Dedicate one full day per week to focused training, with the remaining four days spent gaining on-site experience.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a human services-related field (Psychology, Human Resources, Public Health, or Nursing).
- Ability to commit to a one-year training program.
- Flexibility to accept assignments and schedules at various sites, which includes working evenings and weekends.
- A valid driver’s license with an adequate driving record.
- Ability to pass CORI, SORI, and DEEC background checks, including fingerprinting.
