The Mukwa Health & Fitness Center is seeking a student employee to assist with daily operations and guest services. This part-time role offers an opportunity to gain experience in fitness center management while supporting the mission of Bay Mills Community College. The position is capped at 20 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist guests with membership services and enrollment.
- Perform office duties, including answering and directing telephone calls, managing correspondence, and maintaining electronic and physical files.
- Learn and uphold the policies and procedures of the Mukwa Health & Fitness Center.
- Assist with program planning, implementation, and the setup or cleanup of activities.
- Complete light equipment management and cleaning tasks.
- Attend mandatory supervisor-led trainings.
What you'll need#
- Must be a degree-seeking student at Bay Mills Community College enrolled in at least 6 credits.
- Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.
- Successful completion of 67% of attempted credits at BMCC.
- Maintain 70% or higher attendance in all classes.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and collaborate with others to move equipment exceeding 200 pounds.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and represent the college with professional integrity.
- Experience or knowledge working with diverse populations, including Native American communities in educational settings, is preferred.
