About the role#
This internship is based at our Dakota Gasification site in Beulah, North Dakota. You will work in the weld shop during the summer of 2027, specifically from May 17 through August 20. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Perform basic welding tasks in the shop.
- Handle print reading, fabrication, and pipe plate welding.
- Operate shop machinery including a bandsaw, pipe beveling machine, press brake, and welding positioner.
- Assist with the annual Family Night event, including setup, participation, and cleanup.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You are currently enrolled as a full-time student in a two-year Welding Technology program and have completed at least two semesters, or you have graduated within the past 12 months.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Hold a valid driver license.
- Provide a transcript when you submit your application.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred, as are additional certifications or coursework.

- This role involves physical demands such as walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. You may work at heights and in various environmental conditions, requiring the use of safety equipment like respirators or harnesses.
