About the role#
This summer internship is based at our headquarters in Bismarck, North Dakota. The position runs from May 17, 2027, through August 20, 2027. You will work within the Transmission Services section, supporting our engineering staff for a minimum of 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with NERC/CIP compliance tasks.
- Support engineering staff with various project assignments.
- Help develop and maintain transmission system models.
- Conduct assessments regarding the adequacy and reliability of the transmission system.
- Travel approximately 20% of the time, using a car or plane.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a four-year EAC/ABET electrical engineering program with at least two semesters completed, or recent graduation from such a program.
- A minimum 2.5 GPA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and general computer use.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- At least 18 years of age.
- A valid driver license.
- Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred, as is additional coursework or certifications in the field.
