About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern supports the Pharmacy Manager in the daily operations of the site. You will work under the supervision of a pharmacist to provide patient care and help the pharmacy meet its business objectives. This is a full-time summer 2026 internship based in West Sacramento, California.
What you'll do#
- Assist with pharmacy operations including customer service, inventory management, and expense control.
- Prepare, dispense, and sell prescriptions and pharmacy products.
- Participate in adherence programs to improve pharmacy performance measures.
- Monitor patients to ensure positive therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse drug effects.
- Consult with patients regarding drug therapy plans and potential interactions.
- Support the pharmacy team in achieving sales goals and prescription volume targets.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- A state-issued Pharmacy Intern license for California.
- An active Immunization Certificate.
- Knowledge of laws governing OTC drugs, pharmacy products, and third-party plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel and Word.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to pass a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
- Permanent residency in California or Nevada.
