About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager to support daily pharmacy operations at Bashas'. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2026 located on-site in West Sacramento, California. Interns play an active role in patient care programs and contribute to the overall business objectives of the pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Assist in pharmacy operations, including customer service, inventory management, expense control, and sales.
- Perform duties related to the preparation, dispensing, and sale of prescriptions and pharmacy products under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Participate in adherence programs, such as Outcomes MTM, EQUiPP, and OptumRx, to improve pharmacy performance measures.
- Monitor patients to ensure positive therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse drug effects.
- Consult with patients regarding drug therapy plans and potential interactions.
- Support immunization, injection, and testing programs.
- Assist in developing store programs to meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- A state-issued Pharmacy Intern license for the state of California.
- An active Immunization Certificate.
- Knowledge of laws governing OTC drugs, pharmacy products, and third-party plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Access, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to pass a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
