About the role#
The Pharmacy Intern works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager to support daily pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care and contributing to the business objectives of the pharmacy, including sales, inventory management, and expense control. You will assist in maintaining compliance with all local, state, and federal laws while supporting a high-quality service environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in pharmacy operations, including inventory purchasing, expense control, and gross margin improvements.
- Deliver Pharmacy Care programs such as immunizations, injections, and testing under pharmacist supervision.
- Monitor patients to ensure positive therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse drug effects.
- Consult with patients regarding drug therapy plans, potential interactions, and medication adherence.
- Prepare, dispense, and sell prescription and pharmacy-related products.
- Support pharmacy workflow efficiency and help identify opportunities to optimize financial and operational performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Valid state-issued Pharmacy Intern license for the state of employment.
- Knowledge of laws governing OTC drugs, pharmacy products, and third-party plans.
- Required Immunization Certificate.
- Ability to work various schedules to meet store and customer needs.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel, and Word.
