About the role#
The Graduate Pharmacy Intern works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager to support daily pharmacy operations. This role focuses on providing patient-centered care and assisting in the achievement of business objectives, including sales, inventory management, and expense control. Interns are expected to maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations while fostering a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist in pharmacy operations, including inventory purchasing, expense control, and gross margin improvements.
- Deliver Pharmacy Care programs, such as immunizations, injections, testing, and medication adherence platforms.
- Monitor patients to ensure positive therapeutic outcomes and minimize adverse drug effects.
- Consult with patients regarding drug therapy plans, potential interactions, and medication understanding.
- Prepare, dispense, and sell prescription and pharmacy-related products under pharmacist supervision.
- Support store leadership in developing programs to meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and ensure efficient workflow.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Valid state-issued Pharmacy Intern license for the state of employment.
- Immunization certification.
- Knowledge of laws governing OTC drugs, pharmacy products, and third-party plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet store and customer needs.
- Must pass a drug test, as this is a safety-sensitive position.
