About the role#
As a Student in Information Management, you will join the Library team to support information professionals in their work for researchers. You will assist with core service delivery tasks and contribute to various projects assigned by managers within the division.
What you'll do#
- Support the Library’s Client Relations team in delivering services to researchers.
- Capture metadata for historical documents to assist with digitization efforts.
- Create and curate information alerts using news and media databases.
- Prepare executive profiles for senior leadership by searching databases and summarizing key details.
- Assist with projects and tasks as assigned by managers across the division.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program for information technology or library technology.
- Must be returning to school in the next academic term.
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically SharePoint Online and MS Teams.
- Ability to search peer-reviewed business databases and specialized resources for economics, business, and finance.
- Understanding of copyright, terms, and agreements.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Client service experience is considered an asset.
- A desire to learn new technologies and improve processes.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time position based in Ottawa, Ontario.
- The role operates under a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of 12 days on-site per month.
- Candidates must reside in Canada within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
- You must be eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
- Priority is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
