This internship offers the opportunity to work at the center of Canada's economy. Interns work under the direction of a division director to support the Bank's mandate. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct high-quality research and analysis on subjects relevant to your assigned division.
- Collect, organize, and manipulate data from internal and external sources.
- Contribute to team operations and analysis to fulfill departmental mandates.
- Integrate specialized expertise in areas such as financial market analysis, economic analysis, and regulatory issues.
- Collaborate with team members, other departments, and external contacts, while also working independently.
- Use mathematical or statistical programming languages to analyze information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a master’s degree program in Finance or Economics.
- Strong background in quantitative methods and trading systems.
- Knowledge of the Canadian financial system.
- Completion of, or enrollment in, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or similar program is considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate complex information and ideas clearly to various audiences.
- Eligibility to obtain Reliability security clearance.
- Preference is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
Location & details#
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario.
- Work Modality: Hybrid. Employees are expected on-site at least eight days per month. If you do not live within a reasonable commuting distance, 100% remote work within Canada is available for the duration of the term.
- Compensation: $30.94 per hour.
