    About the role#

    This internship provides an opportunity to advance your dissertation research while working at the center of Canada's economy. You will contribute to projects that support analysis and policy development across areas such as monetary policy, the financial system, and currency. The program typically lasts up to four months with flexible timing. You will collaborate with internal and external peers, including leading experts in economics and finance, to exchange ideas and research insights.

    What you'll do#

    • Advance your dissertation research and showcase your work across the Bank.
    • Analyze complex economic and financial issues using empirical methods and modeling techniques.
    • Contribute to ongoing research projects that address key central bank priorities.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to exchange research insights and analytical approaches.
    • Apply your expertise to real-world challenges in policy and analysis.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident.
    • You should have passed your comprehensive examinations and remain in good standing in your PhD program.
    • Strong analytical, research, and collaboration skills.
    • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and well-structured research papers or reports.
    • Adaptability to new ways of working, including an interest in using AI and other technologies.
    • Active research or experience in fields such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Data Science.

    Location & details#

    • The role is based in Ottawa, Ontario.
    • This is a paid, full-time position with a compensation of $6,532 per month.
    • The Bank operates on a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of eight days on-site per month. Remote work options are available for those living outside a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
    • Candidates must be eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
