About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Jessup, Maryland. You will join the R&D Design and Testing team to help improve our laboratory and testing facilities. This role involves hands-on work with infrastructure and data analysis to support our engineering programs.
What you'll do#
- Support the design, construction, and commissioning of test infrastructure.
- Create and update CAD models, technical drawings, layouts, and project documentation.
- Assist with the installation, troubleshooting, and startup of laboratory equipment.
- Collect and analyze operational data to inform engineering decisions.
- Contribute to facility and continuous improvement projects across various engineering programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering program, with a preference for Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Materials Engineering.
- Junior, Senior, or MS student status is preferred.
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software.
- Comfort working in a laboratory environment using shop and power tools.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- A strong interest in manufacturing systems, laboratory infrastructure, or continuous improvement.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Excel VBA, or Matlab is a plus.

- Compensation: $22 - $28 per hour, plus eligible overtime.
- Term: Rolling.
