About the role#
We are looking for motivated students to join our team for a Co-Op or internship. This role is based in Gainesville, Florida, and is available for the Fall 2026, Winter 2027, or Summer 2027 terms. You will work on-site as a full-time team member, gaining experience in the daily operations of commercial construction projects.
What you'll do#
- Manage project budgets by tracking expenditures and coordinating owner and subcontractor billings.
- Identify work not covered by subcontractors and provide office support for cost and schedule management.
- Learn to coordinate Safety and Quality Control programs to address site problems.
- Review and process submittal data, shop drawings, and project deliveries that impact the schedule.
- Monitor status reports, subcontractor meeting minutes, and change orders.
- Assist with change documents and price review requests.
- Maintain logs for RFIs and change requests.
- Update as-built plans with changes, clarifications, and directives.
- Attend meetings with architects and owners to understand project requirements.
- Follow company procedures and correspondence protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or Construction Technology program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Ability to learn new skills and information quickly.
- Good self-organization and management habits.
- Willingness to participate in training, seminars, and task team meetings.
- An expanding knowledge of construction details such as casework, metals, doors, and radiation protection is helpful.
- Prior commercial construction experience is preferred but not required.
