About the role#
Baird offers year-round internship opportunities within our Capital Markets Data and Analytics teams. You will work alongside experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience in regulatory technology and investment banking analytics. Interns contribute to meaningful projects, learn about financial industry standards, and support senior leadership through data-driven insights.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test regulatory technology data solutions.
- Transform complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Partner with internal business units to translate needs into scalable BI solutions.
- Build data solutions and visualizations using SQL, Python, and PowerBI.
- Contribute to data governance, documentation, and quality assurance processes.
- Assist business users through training, guidance, and self-service reporting support.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve analytics workflows and productivity.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science, computer engineering, business administration, or related fields.
- An anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later with a strong academic record.
- Experience with Python, SQL, and building reports in Power BI Desktop, including foundational DAX.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouse platforms such as Snowflake.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts and data governance best practices.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Financial market knowledge is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- Modality: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote).
- Schedule: Full-time during Summer 2027 (37.5-40 hours per week) and part-time during Winter 2027 semesters (15-20 hours per week).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
