About the role#
This internship supports the Capital Markets Compliance team at Baird. You will work on regulatory technology (RegTech) solutions while learning how laws and ethical standards shape the financial services industry. You will gain insight into how data impacts compliance decisions across Equity Capital Markets, Equity Research, Global Investment Banking, Fixed Income, and Public Finance.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, and test RegTech data solutions.
- Build data visualizations using SQL, Python, and potentially PowerBI.
- Collaborate with internal business partners to understand how data influences firm decisions.
- Participate in team meetings, discussions, and special projects.
- Gain exposure to critical business data problems.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in data science, data analytics, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology management, business analytics, or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
- Experience with Python, SQL, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- A proven track record of academic excellence.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive approach and a commitment to continuous learning.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, hybrid position based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- You will work from the office 3 days per week and remotely 2 days per week.
- The role requires full-time hours (37.5 to 40 hours per week) during the summer and part-time hours (15 to 20 hours per week) during the school semesters.
- The internship spans Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2027.
