About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for the Winter 2027 term. You will work from our Tampa office to support our transportation engineering team. This is a paid, part-time internship that offers hands-on experience and mentorship from professionals in the field.
What you'll do#
- Support the team with transportation design, plan production, calculations, and project documentation.
- Assist with traffic signalization, ITS, signing, and pavement marking tasks.
- Use OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D to support drawings and CADD production.
- Review field notes, as-builts, and existing conditions information.
- Participate in field reviews and project coordination meetings.
- Handle administrative and engineering tasks as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Completed 60 hours towards a Civil or Electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Math skills for simple calculations.
- A willingness to learn technical design workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
