About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring an ITS/Traffic Engineering Intern for our Edison, New Jersey office. This is a part-time position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site and participate in our intern development initiative, which includes mentorship and professional growth opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with traffic and ITS projects.
- Collect, organize, and analyze traffic data.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical documents, and presentations.
- Help with traffic studies, signal analyses, and transportation planning tasks.
- Participate in field visits and data collection activities.
- Support the development and review of engineering drawings and plans.
- Collaborate with team members on project deliverables.
- Learn industry tools, standards, and best practices.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 90 hours toward a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field by the start of the internship.
- Basic knowledge of traffic engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel.
