About the role#
We are looking for a hands-on Fabricator Co-op Student to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. This position provides an opportunity to develop practical skills in metal preparation, layout, assembly, and welding while working alongside experienced fabricators on structural and custom metal projects.
What you'll do#
- Operate raw material processing equipment such as band saws, ironworkers, grinders, and plasma cutters.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings to assist with layout, fitting, and measuring raw materials.
- Align, clamp, and tack-weld components together based on blueprints.
- Grind, sand, and prep welded structures for paint, powder coating, or final delivery.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Handle heavy materials safely and follow all shop safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Fabrication program, such as Welding and Fabrication Technician or Structural Steel Fabricator.
- Basic knowledge of welding processes including MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, or Stick/SMAW.
- Basic understanding of layout procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 40-50 lbs and stand, bend, or kneel for extended periods.
- Strong awareness of welding shop hazards.
- Strict commitment to wearing required PPE, including a welding helmet, leathers, and steel-toed boots.

- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Schedule: Full-time, day shift, Monday to Friday.
- Work Modality: On-site.
