About the role#
Strik, Baldinelli, Moniz, Ltd. is looking for an Electrical Designer Co-op or Intern to join our London office. This is a full-time, 8-month position. You will work with our Electrical Engineering Department on building projects across the residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors. You will assist in producing drawings for permits and construction while working both independently and with our design team to meet project goals.
What you'll do#
- Design and draft electrical systems and components.
- Coordinate with the engineering team and other design disciplines.
- Assist with engineering analysis, evaluations, and implementation for electrical systems.
- Work through construction support issues alongside the design team and contractors.
- Accept technical guidance from designers, technologists, and senior staff.
- Attend occasional site visits to provide feedback on completed designs.
- Take on special projects to help improve current design procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical Engineering Technology or Architectural Technology diploma program, or equivalent.
- A good understanding of building system design.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and a commitment to professional growth.
- Comfort using AI tools and emerging technologies to improve productivity.
- Access to reliable transportation for travel within Ontario.
- Experience in power system design, construction, Ontario Building Code, and Autodesk Revit MEP is preferred.
