About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Construction Management Intern for Summer 2027 in Denver, Colorado. You will act as an Owner’s Representative for State, Federal, or local clients. Projects include roadway work like asphalt and concrete paving, bridges, guard rails, and traffic signals.
What you'll do#
- Observe contractor work and perform quality assurance activities under supervision.
- Perform non-manual field work to monitor moderately complex construction contracts.
- Coordinate tasks with the field lead, project manager, or owner.
- Document construction activities in daily diaries and payment reports.
- Participate in internal quality control checks, including reviewing designs and checking computations.
- Follow all safety protocols established by contract documents, client standards, and company policies.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, which may include exposure to insects, traffic, or uneven terrain.
- Manage nonstandard work shifts, including potential long hours, weekends, or nights.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 60 hours toward a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an ABET accredited program by Summer 2027.
- Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat, and crawl to inspect work.
- Ability to observe construction activities, distinguish colors, and perceive safety warnings like back-up alarms.
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
- Ability to drive a vehicle to jobsites daily.
