About the role#
This is a student co-op position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work under the supervision of a Senior Engineer or Technical Lead to support various engineering projects. This role offers exposure to technical, engineering interfaces, and management aspects within the nuclear industry through training, mentoring, and on-the-job experience. Placements are available for 4, 8, 12, or 16-month terms starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project execution, system improvements, and coordination of deliverables.
- Assist in the development and assembly of engineering instrumentation, control, or process documentation.
- Support modernization initiatives by developing control panel layouts and researching new instrumentation technologies for control room upgrades.
- Contribute to safety assessments, quality assurance, environmental compliance, and adherence to project and regulatory standards.
- Manage tasks including data collection, reporting, document reviews, and tracking project deliverables.
- Participate in technical meetings and facilitate workflow coordination like RFIs and document control.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Chemical Engineering or equivalent program at an accredited Canadian University.
- A strong foundation in engineering and mathematical principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Familiarity with MATLAB or MathCAD and knowledge of the nuclear industry are considered assets.
