About the role#
As a Thermal Intern, you will join our engineering team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. You will contribute to projects that head directly to space. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Perform thermal analysis on various hardware, including propulsion components, batteries, electronics, and printed circuit boards.
- Support design trades by balancing performance, risk, cost, and schedule.
- Design, procure, and test thermal solutions like heaters, heat pipes, interface materials, and surface coatings.
- Develop integration and assembly procedures to ensure thermal design intent is met.
- Collaborate with the integration and test team to install thermal hardware.
- Plan and run thermal vacuum testing at the component and spacecraft level.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or mathematics.
- Demonstrated experience personally designing, building, and testing hardware from scratch.
- Enthusiasm for hands-on hardware development.
- U.S. Citizenship or Green Card status.

- This position is located on-site in San Francisco, California.
- The internship is a full-time, paid role with a base pay of $29.00 per hour.
