About the role#
Astranis is looking for a Technical Project Management Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site, paid role based in San Francisco. The internship lasts for twelve weeks and is designed for students currently enrolled at a four-year university. To comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual.
What you'll do#
- Support programmatics from concept to completion for projects ranging from internal R&D efforts to multi-spacecraft missions.
- Manage risk processes, including generating documentation, tracking burndown plans, and coordinating approvals for risk closure.
- Facilitate headcount tracking and forecasting.
- Plan and organize internal program reviews to track schedules, risks, and key requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers to develop schedules for various subsystems and hardware boxes.
What you'll need#
- A degree or progress toward a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
- Strong organizational and communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and solve problems creatively.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and V-lookups.
- Familiarity with Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
- Experience with space systems or hardware is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership in university clubs, projects, or technical programs.
