About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will build and extend systems that ingest, store, and query telemetry data from our satellite fleet in real time. You will work at the intersection of data engineering and space operations to turn raw satellite signals into actionable insights. Your work will support both commercial and US government programs.
What you'll do#
- Design and build monitoring rules and anomaly detection capabilities for our telemetry data platform.
- Build out client libraries, data pipelines, query interfaces, and APIs for the data platform.
- Collaborate with mission operations and engineering teams to define monitoring requirements and data needs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience with databases such as Postgres or time-series databases.
- Understanding of API design, including REST, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers.
- Bonus points for experience with time-series data, async Python programming, or Kubernetes.
