About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern on the Platform team, you will design and build services that autonomously control satellites. You will monitor telemetry for anomalies and provide real-time situational awareness to keep the fleet safe and online. You will also build core components and services that power the software organization, enabling teams to move faster and more reliably. This role contributes to both commercial and US government programs. You will take full ownership of features while working across backend and infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Design and build high-performance, reliable, mission-critical software used to send commands to space.
- Take full ownership of features across backend and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define software requirements, architectures, and designs.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or an equivalent degree.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience and understanding of databases such as Postgres.
- Experience and understanding of pub/sub and streaming systems like RabbitMQ or Flink.
- Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
- Experience building fleet management systems is a plus.

- This position is located in San Francisco, California, United States.
- This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is paid at a rate of $29.00 per hour.
