About the role#
This internship is a twelve-week, full-time, paid role based in San Francisco. It is designed for students currently enrolled in a four-year university program. You will contribute to meaningful projects, similar to past interns who have designed and tested hardware that is now in orbit.
What you'll do#
- Design and build the factory systems used to manufacture satellites.
- Deliver a physical propulsion subsystem, from tank to thruster, that is ready for space operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as Solidworks, Creo, or NX.
- A strong interest in manufacturing and applying knowledge of how things are made.
- A drive to fix broken equipment, processes, or communication gaps.
- Hands-on experience with design and development.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required due to government space technology export regulations.
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Building or testing liquid propulsion systems.
- Writing work instructions, test procedures, or using MES/ERP software.
- Welding, machining, or designing welded and machined components.
