About the role#
This internship is a full-time, paid position for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site at our San Francisco headquarters. The role is designed for students currently pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or an equivalent technical degree.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the harnessing design team on flight and test hardware.
- Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings for spacecraft harnessing.
- Define interfaces between various subsystems alongside cross-functional teams.
- Route harnessing in 3D using CAD software.
- Apply electrical engineering fundamentals to select components based on voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate requirements.
- Coordinate with the production team to fabricate in-house cables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year university program.
- Familiarity with power and data transmission concepts.
- Interest in designing and working with spacecraft systems.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, such as Solidworks.
- Experience with harness design software like Zuken.
- Familiarity with connector and wire types, including MIL circular, D-Sub, and microD.
