About the role#
This is a full-time internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will join the harnessing design team to contribute to flight and test hardware. This role requires you to work on-site at our San Francisco headquarters.
What you'll do#
- Design flight and test harnessing for spacecraft.
- Create wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematics, and layout drawings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define subsystem interfaces.
- Route harnessing in 3D using CAD programs.
- Select design components based on voltage, power, frequency, and data-rate requirements.
- Coordinate with the production team to fabricate in-house cables.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. program in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
- A strong interest in designing and working with spacecraft systems.
- Familiarity with power and data transmission concepts.
- Experience with Zuken or other harness design software is preferred.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as Solidworks is preferred.
- Familiarity with connectors and wire types like MIL circular, D-Sub, or microD is preferred.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Compensation: $29.00 per hour.
- Status: This position requires U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status to comply with export regulations.
