About the role#
Astranis is hiring a Flight Software Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in San Francisco. You will join our engineering team to work on software for our satellites and ground control systems. Internships at Astranis last for twelve weeks.
What you'll do#
- Design, write, and test embedded software for satellites.
- Develop ground control and testing software.
- Work alongside our engineering team on technical projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. program for Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Experience with C and C++.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language.
- Demonstrated ability to design, write, and test software from scratch.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Bonus points if you have experience with:
- Embedded systems running on bare metal.
- Real time operating systems.
- FPGA or DSP programming.
