About the role#
This internship is a 12-week, full-time position for students currently enrolled at a four-year university. You will join an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. Interns at Astranis take on meaningful work, and many past participants have contributed to hardware or software currently in space.
What you'll do#
- Operate and set up environmental test equipment, including ambient thermal chambers, thermal vacuum chambers, vibration shaker tables, and EMI/EMC test equipment.
- Execute test plans using thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes.
- Conduct environmental testing in areas such as vibration, acoustics, thermal, thermal vacuum, and RF.
- Handle multiple tasks and prioritize your time to meet project goals.
What you'll need#
- A four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation.
- Hands-on design and development skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- A passion for hardware development.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days a week.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with export regulations.
