About the role#
Astranis is looking for a CAD Engineer/Librarian Intern to support our spacecraft development. This is a full-time, paid, on-site role based in San Francisco for the Winter 2027 term. You will contribute to hardware projects and help maintain the design systems that keep our engineering teams moving.
What you'll do#
- Create models and drawings for spacecraft components, structures, and manifolds.
- Manage and improve our design library and data infrastructure.
- Document and refine practices to ensure efficient design workflows.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or Industrial Design.
- Experience working with SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with GD+T and engineering drawings.
- A genuine interest in hardware development.
- Bonus points for experience with complex assemblies, spaceflight components, or surface modeling.

- Location: San Francisco, California.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Pay: $29.00 per hour.
- Requirement: To comply with U.S. government space technology export regulations, you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
