About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. Interns at Astranis work on meaningful projects, with many past participants contributing to hardware or software that is currently in space.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, RF, and Propulsion engineering teams to create assembly and integration test plans.
- Learn to operate test equipment and instruments, including thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes.
- Execute test plans and coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental test efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing hardware.
- Experience using Python to interface with test equipment, process large datasets, and visualize data.
- Familiarity with CAD software and spacecraft systems.
- Ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or protected individual status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

- Work Modality: On-site, 5 days a week.
- Pay: $29.00 per hour.
