About the role#
As an Assembly, Integration, and Test Intern, you will join an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. You will work alongside our Electrical, Mechanical, RF, and Propulsion engineering teams. This role provides an opportunity to contribute to satellite projects, with many past interns having their work head to space. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Develop assembly and integration test plans and procedures based on specific designs.
- Learn to operate test equipment and instruments, including thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes.
- Execute test plans to ensure hardware and software performance.
- Coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental test efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- A documented passion for hardware development.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing hardware.
- Experience using Python to interface with test equipment, process large datasets, and visualize data.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Proven ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required for compliance with export regulations.
Location & details#
- This role is based on-site in San Francisco, California, five days a week.
- The pay rate is $29.00 per hour.
