About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027. You will join an interdisciplinary team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software. Interns at Astranis work on challenging projects and contribute to hardware or software heading to space.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, RF, and Propulsion engineering teams to develop assembly and integration test plans.
- Learn to operate test equipment and instruments, including thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes.
- Execute test plans and coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental test efforts.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical field.
- Hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing hardware.
- Experience writing Python code to interface with test equipment, process large datasets, and visualize data.
- Proficiency in CAD and direct electrical or mechanical design experience.
- Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation.
- Ability to work on-site 5 days a week.
- Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or other protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
