About the role#
This internship offers the chance to contribute to the design, build, and test phases of satellite hardware and software. You will join an interdisciplinary team to coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental test efforts. This role is a full-time, paid position based in San Francisco for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, RF, and Propulsion engineering teams.
- Develop assembly and integration test plans based on current designs.
- Operate test equipment including thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes.
- Execute test procedures and coordinate testing activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a four-year degree program for Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing hardware.
- Proficiency in Python for interfacing with test equipment, processing datasets, and data visualization.
- Experience with CAD software.
- Ability to debug hardware and software issues under time pressure.
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status is required to comply with export regulations.
