About the role#
This co-op position supports the Imaging and Resection Test Engineering department in Naples, Florida. You will work alongside product engineers and managers to test medical devices, including shaver, RF, power, and fluid portfolios. The role focuses on gaining hands-on experience in the research, design, and manufacturing of medical equipment.
What you'll do#
- Perform verification and validation (V&V) activities for new and existing product development.
- Lead projects to develop and implement test fixtures and new test method procedures.
- Automate test methodologies and create data collection systems to characterize products.
- Conduct design of experiments (DOEs) and reliability testing.
- Analyze data and write protocols and reports to document your findings.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a full-time student in a bachelor's degree program for Mechanical, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering, or a recent graduate within six months of your degree date.
- Junior standing or higher is preferred.
- Required experience with CAD software, specifically SolidWorks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to solve technical issues.
- Experience with statistical analysis is preferred, particularly with Minitab.
- Familiarity with LabVIEW and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
- Knowledge of surgical equipment, mechanical testing tools, and 3D modeling software like ProEngineer is helpful.
