About the role#
This co-op position at Arconic offers hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment. You will work alongside professionals on projects that impact the business. Each rotation includes an assigned manager and mentor. The program requires two full-time semesters, ideally alternating between school and work. While Arconic evaluates co-ops for potential entry-level openings, full-time employment is not guaranteed.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate material, product, and process qualifications based on customer test plans.
- Support development efforts directly on the manufacturing floor.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with the Metallurgical and Quality Systems team to address customer quality issues.
- Collaborate with commercial teams to review new business opportunities.
- Assist with maintenance, repairs, and project planning tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University.
- Completion of at least 1 year of engineering coursework.
- Participation in at least one extracurricular activity, such as a school club or part-time job.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Ability to access controlled technology under Export Administration Regulations or International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
- Preferred: Completion of 2 or more years of engineering coursework.
- Preferred: Experience with metallurgical research or production.
- Preferred: Basic knowledge of materials characterization, specifically optical and scanning electron microscopy.
