About the role#
This internship at Arconic offers a hands-on introduction to the Quality and Metallurgical Engineering field. You will work directly with metallurgical professionals at our Davenport Works facility, which is the largest aluminum rolling mill in the country. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position designed to provide real-world experience within a manufacturing environment.
What you'll do#
- Attend orientation to learn about our culture and your responsibilities.
- Participate in area-specific training to prepare for your tasks.
- Shadow and assist various engineering groups throughout the plant.
- Complete assigned research projects and gain experience with real-world quality systems.
- Develop a mid-summer presentation to share your findings and solutions with teams across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Metallurgical, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, as well as Physics or Chemistry.
- Expected graduation date in late Fall 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. We do not provide visa sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Excel and general expertise in MS Office.
- Strong leadership, team, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication abilities and strategic thinking.
- Experience with extracurricular activities, work-study, off-campus jobs, or volunteer positions.

- This position requires access to controlled technology subject to Export Control Law and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
