About the role#
Arconic is looking for a Software Developer Intern to join our IT team in Bettendorf, Iowa. This is a full-time, on-site internship focused on developing enterprise automation solutions and supporting our global IT operations. You will work directly with business groups to solve real-world problems while learning internal development processes and standards.
What you'll do#
- Gather and document business needs and processes with various business groups.
- Develop enterprise business automation solutions using assigned toolsets.
- Perform application testing for configurations, migrations, and customizations.
- Operate within Arconic IS standards and IT guidelines.
- Collaborate with a global IT team to share information and best practices.
- Apply your skills to deliver on key IT projects and tasks.
- Communicate professionally across multiple channels, including face-to-face, email, and Microsoft Teams.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date in Fall 2027, Spring/Summer 2028, or Spring/Summer 2029.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and the software development lifecycle.
- Coursework or experience with at least one programming language such as Java, C#, Visual Basic, or JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and relational databases (SQL).
- Familiarity with source control tools like Git.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical team members.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must meet ITAR U.S. person status requirements.
