About the role#
This is a student worker position based at the SUNY Polytechnic Institute campus in Utica, New York. You will work on-site in food service or catering operations. This is a paid, full-time role with a rolling application window.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items using standardized recipes.
- Set up workstations, including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, and steam tables.
- Store food properly according to safety standards.
- Serve food to customers while anticipating their needs.
- Maintain a positive demeanor and provide excellent customer service to guests and co-workers.
- Replenish food items and keep products stocked.
- Clean and sanitize workstations.
- Adhere to safety policies and ensure the security of company assets.
What you'll need#
- Previous food service experience is preferred.
- You must have or be willing to acquire a food safety certification.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking.
- Willingness to wear uniforms or personal protective equipment as required.
