About the role#
As a Student Intern at Western New Mexico University, you will support food service operations while gaining experience in marketing and communications. This is a paid, on-site position with a rolling term. You will work directly with the district marketing team to improve the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff.
What you'll do#
- Gather feedback through surveys from students, faculty, and staff in the dining hall.
- Promote dining events and food offerings across campus.
- Manage and create content for all dining hall social media accounts, including photos and videos.
- Coordinate check-ins with the district marketing team.
- Supervise, train, and manage food operations, ensuring proper food preparation and service.
- Assist with tabling at weekly and monthly dining room events.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at WNMU.
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or Media Studies.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic and handle cash.
- Capability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding verbal instructions.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Comfort working with heated equipment and around kitchen conditions.
- Ability to walk across campus regardless of weather conditions.
